So what's the deal? I am offering this cruise at the request of my sister, Judi, who has a noteworthy birthday next April and she wanted to celebrate it in a significant way. We decided that a river cruise would be perfect and that we would invite you to join us, so here we go!
We are booking an 11-day tour that begins on Thursday, April 20 with an overnight flight from the USA to Budapest, Hungary. After arrival in Budapest we will spend two hotel nights (April 21-22) in that lovely city with a guided tour included. There will be free time to explore on our own.
On Sunday, April 22 we will board the river boat for a 7-night cruise along the Danube. Starting in Hungary, we will pass through three more countries, Slovakia, Austria and Germany. If we choose to take the optional excursion on April 27 we will go to a fifth country, the Czech Republic.
The cruise will end in Regensburg, Germany with a bus transfer to Munich for the flight back to the USA on April 30. However, if you choose, you may extend your trip with an added 3-night hotel stay in Prague, Czech Republic.
Riverboats are smaller and more intimate than the large cruise liners. The Monarch Queen accommodates 148 passengers. All meals are included while on board with unlimited wine and beer with dinners. You will see all the benefits and features of river cruising when you check out the website.

of cabins and you can choose which suits you best. Note
that Cabins E only have a window, not a French balcony,
* You will notice there is a sale going on until October 28
however cabin availability may not last that long. I have
NOT reserved a block of cabins so it is a first-come,
first-serve situation with reservations made individually
directly with Gate 1 Travel.
* We can also book with airfare from NYC. To book air
from another city (i.e. Charlotte) you can make that
request from Gate 1 Travel.
* We can book the tour without the airfare and request
that later if desired. I suggest booking the cruise ASAP
then deciding on the air later. We don't want the cabins
to sell out before we get our reservation secured.
* There is a $300/per person non-refundable deposit
required when you make a reservation. Of course credit
cards are accepted with the agency for all payments.
* All our booking transactions will be with Gate 1. I will
not be involved with any monetary transactions or making
reservations for you - that will be your responsibility with
Gate 1 Travel so you will know exactly what the expenses
are and when payments are due, etc.
* Complete coverage travel insurance is also available for
$199 per person. It can be added to your booking.
